I believe technology can greatly enhance and increase the time teachers have available to engage in physical activity. Technology in a physical education setting can be used to give the students a hands on approach, such as the use of a pedometer or the use of a Nintendo Wii system for example, in both of these examples, students are able to track their progress and perform different activities while using technology and not have to wait on the teacher to further instruct them. This can be a vital resource due to increased class sizes. Through the use of different types of technology tools teachers are able to meet the needs of more students. I am not however, saying that technology can replace a teacher, but the use of technology can help increase the amount of on task time for the students. Technology is a vital part of our society and we should take advantage of it.
Found below is an article about the evolution of physical education classes to the use of technology.
